Advanced Salsa Move #17

So you think you can spin? For the men, this week’s move will prove it.

This week’s move tells a story… They guys show off in the 1st bar, and by the 3rd bar the girl’s decided to hijack and take over the lead. The guy responds by spinning in to pick her up again for a cross body lead into some slightly sexy business at the end.

The shine at the beginning is called a swing step and is a long-standing favourite of Oliver Pineda (my 1st teacher). I should warn you… once you have this in your muscle memory, it can be hard to do anything else when you break into shines as it has a really nice “swing” to it 🙂
